opa...lost page :(
well, we couldn't find it, at least.
the technical name for what is going on here is an "HTTP 404 Error". in layman's terms, that translates to something like, "the page you requested could not be found". if you looked at the conversation your browser just had with my web site you'd see something like:
- browser: "give me page [thepageyouwanted]!"
- site: "no! it doesn't exist! instead i'll give you the page john made for me to display when a page doesn't exist, ok?"
your browser was then given this page instead, and you are stuck with it. whether the page you really wanted exists or not is a matter of debate which i'll let you, your browser, and my web site software figure out.
one of several things can cause this error:
- you came from a page with a bad link
- There is an error in the software that runs this site
- you mistyped something in the URL.
what happened?
i have deduced through deductive reasoning and a few complex calculations that you seem to have mistyped something (see the third bullet up above). check your spelling and try again, ok? you may yet find something interesting... maybe even what you are looking for.
how do you know?
the "Complex Calculations" and related items mentioned above involve testing certain server variables and displaying the message above based on those tests. check out smart404 for sem more juicy details, eh.
